APHS - Courage and hope are central to the lives of our children and families. Pediatric gastrointestinal motility disorders are not pleasant to think about, or to treat, or to live with, but usually, with correct diagnosis and proper treatment, they are manageable. The American Pseudo-obstruction and Hirschsprung's Disease Society, Inc. (APHS), was formed to answer the needs of families, patients and healthcare professionals facing a myriad of challenges posed by gastrointestinal motility disorders in infants and children. Since 1988, APHS had been developing various programs to address its organizational objectives of research, education and family support. As an international, not for profit organization, APHS promotes public awareness of conditions such as chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction syndrome (CIPS), Hirschsprung's disease (HD), gastroesophageal reflux (GER), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and intestinal neuronal dysplasia (IND), as well as other serious disorders that significantly affect gastrointestinal motility.
